Black Catholic Church in Charleston Receives Grant
St. Patrick Catholic Church in Charleston is the city’s only remaining Black Catholic parish and is the site of a new African American Heritage Center. The congregation has received a $500,000 grant from the National Fund for Sacred Places that will allow for the completion of repairs and restorations to the steeple and exterior of the building.
