Union Non-Profit Receives Federal Grant
The L.W. Long Community Resource Center has received a grant to preserve and protect the historic Union Community Hospital on Main Street of downtown Union. The hospital was established by Dr. Lawrence W. Long in 1934 during the era of segregation and served an all black clientele and was also a teaching hospital where medical doctors and interns from across the region trained.
