The Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center is a non-profit organization founded in 2021 with the mission of preserving and celebrating the rich history and culture of the Gullah community in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina.

The Bluffton Gullah Cultural Heritage Center is a non-profit organization founded in 2021 with the mission of preserving and celebrating the rich history and culture of the Gullah community in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. As an educational and community engagement center, our goal is to cultivate experiences that promote learning about Bluffton’s distinctive Gullah heritage through programs, events, and exhibitions. A key initiative for the Center is the development of an interactive facility with interior and exterior exhibits that will immerse visitors in the rich history of the contributions of Black Americans to Bluffton’s history while also highlighting the significant impact Gullah Geechee history and traditions have had and continue to have in Bluffton and the surrounding areas.
